Answer:
Passion Event is the name of our Weekly Meeting at COLWC. We realize that trying to describe our gatherings in terms of traditional church would be a short attempt at describing this rich and intimate experience we share with God at these times. The LORD revealed to us that we are not holding conventional church services. Instead, we are offering genuine expressions of Davidic Worship and Biblical Prophetic Ministry; fulfilling the words of the Apostle James in Acts 15. We are raising up the Tabernacle of David. The Bible describes that this type of worship has been lost and neglected. But we are restoring this ancient and highly blessed form of communication with GOD. Through this, the LORD HIMSELF is helping us to reach the nations; and HE is bringing out a people for HIS NAME sake. This is all described in the Bible, and it explains how GOD is looking for people who will seek HIM out of every culture; and they will have the name of Jesus called over them. The LORD is the ONE who will make this all happen in response to our love and appreciation to HIM. HE has proclaimed it from the beginning of the world.
Answer:
At COLWC, we host the presence of the Lord weekly! Our gatherings typically begin at 3pm every Sunday. Sometimes that may vary, so it may be a good idea to call us in advance to determine whether any special times are being observed. We would like to invite you to join us for Passion Event! Everything we do is focused on the Lord Jesus Christ with prophetic worship that touches the Heart of God! We do not keep to a schedule during these times. As the believers begin to gather, we may start the service at any time after 3pm and when the Lord has fulfilled all that He wills during the meeting, we will dismiss the group. More often than not, we are still at the church past 9pm. As a visitor, we want you to feel free to come and go as you may need to do so. We welcome you to be with us for as long as you can stay. If you must leave before we’ve concluded the meeting, we will look forward to seeing you again.
Answer:
The Bible tells us that we are to “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.” So, if you have never had the opportunity to visit a Spirit-Filled gathering before, you will discover that Biblical expressions of worship are still practiced today. Join in with us as we praise God together in spirit and in truth. Here are some of the things you may experience at a COLWC Passion Event:
- WE PRAY TOGETHER ALOUD because... In the Bible we read, "They lifted up their voice to God with one accord." ~Acts 4:24
- WE LIFT OUR HANDS IN PRAISE because... In the Bible we read, "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord." ~Psalm 134:2
- WE SING WITH ALL OUR HEARTS because... In the Bible we read, "Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise." ~Psalm 98:4
- WE PLAY MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS because... In the Bible we read, "And all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments." ~II Samuel 6:5
- WE CLAP AND SHOUT UNTO GOD because... In the Bible we read, "O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph." ~Psalm 47:1
- WE DANCE BEFORE THE LORD because... In the bible we read, "Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs." ~Psalm 150:4
- WE TESTIFY PUBLICLY because... In the bible we read, "I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee." ~Psalm 22:22
- WE ANOINT WITH OIL FOR DIVINE HEALING because... In the Bible we read, "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." ~James 5:14
- WE ALLOW THE OPERATION OF THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS because... In the Bible we read, "When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation." ~I Corinthians 14:26
Answer:
We believe in the Apostles' Doctrine, and we affirm that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. Believers should order their lives by it. There is One God, the Creator of all things and He is Lord over all Creation. He is an eternal, invisible, omnipresent, Almighty Spirit. He is holy. He is merciful and good. He is the author and arbiter of all Truth. He is ONE, and His name is Jesus. God was manifest in the flesh as the man Christ Jesus, the Son of God. Salvation was purchased for all by His Blood and is received through faith, repentance and obedience to the Word. The Born-Again Experience calls us to believe, repent, be baptized in water in Jesus name and to receive the Holy Spirit. More on this subject with Scripture references can be found HERE.
Answer:
Without a doubt, we are New Testament, Book of Acts, Spirit-Filled Believers; Christians in every sense. Nevertheless, we understand that Christianity would not be, without Judaism. Jesus was Jewish. The Apostles were all Jewish. The inspired writers of the Bible were Jewish (except Luke). And the Old Testament contains all the things that prepared the world for Jesus to come onto the scene. In fact, the Gospel was first preached out of the OT before there was even a NT written. So, we understand that our heritage is deeply rooted in Judaism. We honor that heritage and have discovered that there are wonderful traditions that proclaim the story of Jesus Christ, found in the Hebrew Roots of the Old Testament. Some of the beautiful things we are privileged to share are found within the Feasts of the Lord. Find out more HERE.
